The Hitching

OF DOUG AND WILLOW - NOVEMBER 10, 2018

The hitching of Willow and Doug

First of all: thank you for making the trip. We know that it's a haul. Second,  do what works best for you, but it isn't easy to get there and it might hurt a little if you try to make it a “long weekend” trip. We have booked the hotel for November 7-14. But of course we understand not everyone can take a week off – so if you are booking a shorter trip, we recommend that you come as early as possible the week before, and then if you need to leave after the ceremony and reception that’s totally fine. We have some stuff we’d love to share with you in the days leading up to the ceremony, so that's our preference if you can swing it. Alternatively, if you want to come even earlier than the 7th or stay even longer than the 14th – yeah!! let's talk!

Flights:

If you just search flights to Puerto Escondido you may wind up paying more and getting worse times – be sure to also look into booking this as two separate legs – and look up the domestic carriers from Mexico City to Puerto Escondido (see below)

In most cases, the best bet is to fly with your favorite carrier to Mexico City, airport code MEX. The key is to arrive in Mexico City in good timing to connect with the flight to Puerto Escondido, airport code PXM.

The last leg of the trip for most of you will be from Mexico City to Puerto Escondido. We recommend that you book this leg directly with a domestic carrier. If you book it straight through the prices get way too high. You should allow two hours to get through customs and connect to your next flight. Here are websites for the three domestic airlines connecting MEX and PXM.

Two things to note:

·       1)They each have their own unique schedules. Make sure that your PXM flight is lined up with your international flight. There are different days that are serviced by different carriers.

·       2)If possible, pay for your luggage when booking the flight. If you add bags at the airport, they will charge you more than when you pay in advance.

The next closest airport to Puerto is Huatulco, airport code HUX. This airport is only an hour and a half bus or taxi/limo ride to Puerto Escondido ($50). http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g150789-i740-...

Most of the direct flights leave from Los Angeles.
